Newry Chamber Music presents a concert of chamber music masterpieces for strings and woodwind performed by the Fews Ensemble - Ireland’s newest professional classical music group and NCM’s resident ensemble.

Beethoven’s energetic Septet dating from 1799 is one of the last works he composed before becoming aware of his encroaching deafness. Schubert’s glorious Octet was commissioned in 1824 by the renowned clarinettist Ferdinand Troyer. He wanted Schubert to produce a work similar to Beethoven’s Septet. The instrumentation is almost identical to the Beethoven, with the addition of another violin part. Join some of Europe’s finest musician’s and hear these wonderful works brought to life!
